Ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week, Sean Fletcher and Margherita Taylor travel to the Sharpham Trust, located in the beautiful wilds of south Devon. It's an internationally recognised centre and has been connecting people with nature since 1982. Amongst its 550 acres of woodland, gardens, meadows and rivers, the charity offers a range of programmes that help with different aspects of mental health and wellbeing. With an increase in mental health problems of some kind each year, Margherita and Sean see how spending time outdoors and bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your physical and mental wellbeing. Margherita hears how stress burnout has been alleviated by working in the garden at Sharpham, and she meets a group of incredible young girls who found relief and respite in being by surrounded by woodland nature. Sean tries canoeing on the River Dart to experience the calming effects of water. Adam looks at the importance of farmers discussing their mental-health challenges to help the wider agricultural community. Charlotte heads to Warwickshire to investigate the impact on mental health that inspections can have on farmers.
